Studying in Austria — FAQs
Is Austria affordable for Indian students?
Public universities charge non-EU students roughly EUR 1,500-1,600 a year, which is low, though living costs in Vienna run around EUR 950-1,300 a month. It is one of the more affordable Western European options if you can meet the language requirement.
Do I need German to study in Austria?
For German-taught programmes yes, usually at B2. There are English-taught master's programmes, particularly at universities of applied sciences, which ask for IELTS instead.
