  • ·Postgraduate: a recognised bachelor's degree, typically 65%+ or equivalent GPA
  • ·English: IELTS 6.0–6.5 overall with no band below 6.0 for most programmes
  • ·Proof of funds for tuition plus living costs, plus a GIC for the study permit where required

Studying in Canada — FAQs

How much does it cost to study in Canada from India?

Tuition typically runs CAD 14,000–40,000 a year depending on whether you choose a college diploma or a university degree, plus roughly CAD 12,000–18,000 a year in living costs. You'll also need to show proof of funds — often including a GIC — for the study permit.

Can I get PR after studying in Canada?

Studying in Canada does not grant permanent residence, but it is a common path to it: the PGWP lets you gain Canadian work experience, which then scores in Express Entry. Rules and score cut-offs change, so treat it as a route rather than a guarantee.

What is a GIC and do I need one?

A Guaranteed Investment Certificate is a prepaid deposit with a Canadian bank that demonstrates you can cover your first year's living costs. It is required under the Student Direct Stream and often expected more broadly. We guide you through opening one.
